Hi, Joe -

I think this comes from your neck of the woods...

copernic.com

...it IS a great search engine.

"...free time and patience"

I am somewhat disturbed by the phenomenon at SH, WRT distortion, attacks on posters known for their credibility, and the constant repetition of thinly-disguised lies.

Some of these posters take advantage of the normal courtesy that we extend to others: the assumption that the poster is acting out of sincere interest, be it positive or negative.

In effect, the logical and factual voices are being constantly attacked - by the malicious and distorted posts of others.

All, of course, under the guise of civility.

Bullsh*t. It's about time we started calling a spade a spade.

The info-danger in all stocks with emerging potential is the middle ground. The extreme positives and negatives are pretty obvious. It's that grey, unclear middle area that the FUD artists prosper - and we have quite a collection of them on SH.

Any additional facts that can be brought to the dialogue are needed, now.

I am probably spending more time than I should on this effort, but haven't all the longs done this, at one time or another?

In any case, your thanks are appreciated.

Best regards,

Jim

Hi, Joe -

After 10 hours of researching topicals for OA, and other uses, the following conclusions:

1 - Yes, there are a number of competitors, but none with the efficacy of Pennsaid. This is particularly true in Europe. Euro medications of this type seem to be predominantly prescriptive, though there is a large number of non-prescription products. I am wondering if Euro resistance isn't more political, than product-based. Needs more investigation.

2 - The "thinking" in the Canadian establishment on the subject (topical app of NSAIDs) seems to be way behind the curve. I can definitely see the need for a Canadian sales force.

3 - Knowledge of Pennsaid is low. Almost nonexistant. It's not yet on anyone's radar.

4 - The most important benefit of J+J (I'll say it again) will be building brand recognition, and market share.

Hello -

I am wondering why you have no information on Pennsaid.

This is a topical, transdermal system using DMSO to introduce diclofenac to the site of pain. Relief is very quick. Systemic effects are minimal.

It is distributed in the UK by Provalis.

This is a safe, effective product. I feel you are doing an injustice to those who suffer from chronic osteoarthritic pain: the potential for significant relief is noteworthy.

I hope you will be able to correct this omission.

Thank you
