Wow. I think Maier's allegations are at least serious enough to launch an investigation of some sort, even if there may be factual inaccuracies in the book.
Although we don't know the truth, it is hard to believe that Cramer wouldn't be tempted to trade on analyst's upgrades/downgrades, if he knew his company was the first to receive them.

Wow, maybe this book will have turned out to be one of my better investments. (I already have my copy from Amazon.com).

When I saw the news, I thought for sure it was being recalled because it's called "Instinet", not "the Instinet".

Capsule summary for those who won't have the chance to read the book:

Jim Cramer screams a lot and turns red. He had beady little eyes. He smashes monitors, and has unopened monitor boxes lined-up in his office as quick replacements. He plays dirty but not, you know, really, really dirty. Did I mention that he smashes a LOT of monitors?
