policemen are notorios bad shots. They always seem to be shooting the wrong people when they do hit anyone. and at that it seems to take them hundreds of rounds.

So, you advocate that only people who can hold their temper be allowed to 'pack'? How will you ensure this? Do you really
believe that by simply passing a safety test and having no crimial record, that person is valid risk to your family and mine?

Yes. Statistics prove it and even law enforcement believes it. The number of states that have "shall carry" is increasing and now numbers 38. If what you believe could be proved it would not be happening. I have no idea what "hold your temper" means.

Being range tested and taking a safety class does not qualify you for law enforcement. That's why we have police academies,
with strict training. I'm sure our law enforcement officers just LOVE the prospect of a bunch of vigilante Rambo's hitting the
streets packing heat

A policeman recently passed around a loaded gun in an elementary school classroom. It went off into the ceiling when she re-inserted the magazine. Trained? YES Fired? NO

I'll leave it to you to discover how many police shootings are justifiable. It's something you obviously should be interested in if you believe they are well-trained and even tempered.

You left out clean criminal record. I may have left out the other items that disqualify you from having a firearm.

1. A felon (crime that carries a 1 year sentence.)
2. A fugitive
3. Drug user (evident by law)
4. Mentally defective or imcompetent (adjudged by law)
5. Those committed to a mental institution
6. Dishonorably discharged servicemen or women
7. Illegal Alien
8. Renounced citizenship
9. Under a court order restraining harassment, stalking or threatening of an intimate partner or partner's child.
10. Convicted of domestic violence MISDEMEANOR

These disqualify you from OWNING, let alone CARRYING CONCEALED.

I think you are denying the rest of us the right to defend ourselves against those who have NO intention of obeying the law, i.e. CRIMINALS.

There is aother factor: if you lose your temper with a gun, you'll likely lose your life.

It's a sobering factor.
