I agree with the observation that the US is very protective of things that affect our way of life. We jump to protect little Kuwait, yet leave the evil Saddam Hussein. We protect interests in Europe in the former Yugoslavia, yet stand by when there is wholesale ethnic slaughter in Rwanda. We have a tendency to react strongly when it is something that affects us, yet ignore (or even support) countries and regimes that consistency violate human rights.

Remember UBL? He got his start, funding, and traing from us. Because he was a convenient tool at the time. We need to stop funding and assisting destabilizing forces.

We need to take our role as the sole superpower seriously. If we want stability and security, we need to exercise consistent and fair policies.
