that's understandable, britons didn't believe they were in decline around the time of world war one either.

well you choose to look at the success of a nation based on economics. what really keeps a nation thriving is culture. our culture has been in an accelerating decline for a few decades, and eventually it will affect us economically to the point of being quite evident.
