I agree about locating our friends and enemies. My point of contention (with other posters on this thread) has to do with that identification and how it is done. Identifying foes as 'all Muslims' who must be enemies unless they give up Islam is one of the approaches cited here.

However, we must follow up. If a country steps up on our side, we need to back them. Not like we did with Afghanistan the first time, abandoning them when they were no longer useful. Pakistan is a country that has risked the wrath of the extremists to help in the war on terror, and should yield some long-lasting benefits from coming down on our side.
