I guess it depends on your perspective. If you believe in the following: "white is right", a woman's place is in the the home/bedroom, homosexuals are damned to hell, the non-white races need to be 'shown their place', Christianity is the only true religion/all others are heathen; then I guess you DO yearn for the good old days where dogs were used to run down those who dare look funny at a white woman and a quick rope was a fine alternative to a long-winded trial. The rest of us, we view forward as progress. Sometimes it's two steps forward, one back (e.g. the OJ mess), but forward nonetheless.
