Richard: The way I read that chart is that in 1994 and 1995 commercials were much longer than the small speculator. In fact, the small speculators were the shortest in that time frame for all the years referenced in that chart. Going into 1996, the commercials went shorter and the small speculators went longer and we then went into a period of static which represented the last years of the bull market.

Right now the small speculators are the longest they have ever been, even longer than at the height of the bubble and the commercials are at the other end but not at record short.
