He's an interesting writer. What initially sounds like devil music is really well written and packed with good guitar

Saturday's SXSW results:

John Butler Trio (from Australia)...very good. I plan on grabbing some

Stephen Bruton..local hero...excellent guitar

we ducked downstairs for some cajun during the set change between Bruton and Jon Dee Graham..when we tried to re-enter the music area there was a massive line of suckers standing in the street. The Flatlanders were playing at midnight..no chance of getting back in as they will only let one in when one leaves...and no one was leaving...and still the poor suckers stood in line...LOL!!

flatlanders austin360.com

Western Keys..bunch of racket

Umphrey's McGee..from Chicago...I'm sure they have a large following in CHI-town...young duds cranking out funky dance music..whiteboy style. Good players

Jerry Cantrell...Alice in Chains without Layne Staley...3 chords..loud..rock and roll. I enjoyed this one but Lostgirl was ready to leave after the first note. Hair band...4 guitars, Bass and drums...weak solos ..lots of hair flipping

Tito and Tarantula..nice band to end it all...Continental Club packed to the rafters...the groove rattles the walls

adios to another SXSW...can't wait for next year<g>
