Someone had the brilliant idea to outlaw whiskey once, and the result was a disaster of epic proportions. Arm the law-abiding public, and the human waste will be minimized. Of course, a large portion of Gore voters would simply disappear, and therein lies the problem for the left...

You keep repeating your incorrect premise, only now you've broadened it to put handguns, nukes, chemical weapons, biological weapons in the same incorrect category.

In point of fact, those things are specifically developed and deployed not so much to kill human beings, but rather to act as deterrents to those who would.

Please explain your statement, "Their effectiveness is measured by their lethalness."

If you want to do away with guns USED in crime, fine. I prefer to keep the ones USED to defend against crime. Good compromise, n'est ce pas?
