Lott? The fellow who wants to arm teachers to prevent crime? The one who says that the increased number of women and minorities in law enforcement has increased the crime rate? Well, Lott was proved wrong. Even though his flawed study was refuted, it was used to change concealed weapons laws in a number of states. The result? States that changed their concealed weapons laws did not enjoy the same drop in crime as states that did not.

The gun control hysterics will stop at nothing, because their agenda is based upon fear, which from time to time gets stirred up to a panic. Maybe they know something about themselves and what they themselves would do if they possessed a gun when arguing with a spouse or lover. For them, gun ownership probably isn't a good idea, but it's their personal choice. However, not everybody is like them, which they fail to acknowledge and respect. They will do or say anything, including misrepresenting and distorting the data, fabricating facts, and more, to weigh in with views that are grounded on emotion rather than fact and reason. But fear-mongering is a tactic used by the left to propound a lot of socialist, freedom-limiting causes, so it shouldn't be a surprise. I still haven't seen any response from Mr. Rose to my suggestion that he give up his private swimming pool, even after presenting substantial and compelling evidence that they are a serious health hazard and responsible for many, many deaths of children each year. And who does it benefit? Just him.
