But it was unfortunate I was misunderstood, in parts, or so it seems." The anguish, guilt, and self-doubt did not torment me. I made my life in society by not looking back at what we and I had done. It all went as far back in my mind as I could get it. The soldiers of that era were definitely put in the basket of "some" or a "good many". I personally have friends who served in that war that still cannot function in today's society because of the way that they were looked at in the society that they returned to. I have finally made the decision to look back and disregard the venting of people who threw "some" or all of us into the same pool. This occurred before 911 and the current situation. I will never again have "no reaction" or keep silent about that war. It was part of who I am. I can live with it now. By the way! When I was there I did eat dog, and even monkey once in the home of a South Vietnamese family. It would have shown disrespect to have done otherwise. You certainly would have made a good politician, as you parse words very well. I did catch those "parse" words, but what you say has meaning even in the parsing. Let us leave it at that, but in the future I hope that you consider the feelings of the people that you are referring to. Terry
