Well, the discussion started by presuming we WOULD invade Iraq. I'm just pointing out that the US has successfully done exactly what you were saying we would have to do. without regional support We started Afghanistan with no regional support. Amazing what a little blackmail and bribery can accomplish. Hey, this ain't Sunday School. We talking international politics and war here. What specific aggressive action is Iraq directing at us and our allies that justifies the trouble, expense, and bog-down risk of conducting an invasion without regional support and maintaining an extended occupation? What happens if Iraq does pull off a nuclear capability and delivery system? Well, let's see, Iran has to have one. Israel gets very nervous.
