>> Hmm, you don't see the connection between your comments about a converging, majority-rules view of morality where everyone conforms to a limited-rights singularity of thought for the good of the whole, and Soviet Russia? <<

no i don't.

>> Comparing terrorists (which I do hate) to law abiding people who harm no one is quite a leap <<

comparing homosexuals to blacks, asians, hispanics seems like quite a leap to me, but you made it.

>> Is that the sort of logic that you right wingers employ? <<

i was trying to use the type of low-level logic that you use, because you seem to understand that type best :)

>> If you view the rights spelled out in the Constitution as privilege, fine <<

i told you, i don't mix rights with privileges. you were the one trying to do that.

>> I, for one, would like to see us maintain the rights guaranteed by our Constitution <<

like i said, if gays only wanted the same rights as everyone else, there isn't a problem. they already enjoy them. but they seek special privileges, simply because of their lifestyle. like i said, if marriage is an uncompromising right and not a privilege, then i have to assume that everyone who consents should be allowed to marry. so i guess you don't have a problem with me marrying half of new york. if you tell me that marriage is only for couples, then i guess you shouldn't mind if i marry my grandfather! after all, i love my grandfather. there must be something in the constitution that guarantees me the right to marry him!
