I actually don't know much about him, but his argument made sense to me. Can you poke holes in it?

... no and I do not try ... most of what I read, I read for a general sense of macroeconomic conditions, and then I draw my own conclusions and act accordingly ... right now, I am 34% in small cap growth (not high tech) stocks and 66% in cash (the most bullish I have been since January, 2000) ...

... all I can say about Gene Epstein is that since early 2000, he has been almost continuously wrong ... much the same as Barron's lead columnist, Alan Abelson, was strongly bearish through the late 1990's ... and almost continuously wrong ...

... my point, if I have one, is that to make money in these difficult times, requires a strong sense of confidence of being correct ... or staying in cash and avoiding the big losses ...

... to me, the thought that the bear market AND the recession are over ... is very very doubtful ...
