Yes there were two Jewish groups that were called terror groups. Whether the Irgun was or not is open to debate. So big deal, what is your point? If anything they impeded the formation of the state. The Haganah, the quasi army actaully fought with them, unlike the PA which activey encourages terroism. Anyway, the main point is that the Arabs rjected a UN partition, and then started the 67 war, which led to Israel's occupation of the the West Bank.
