It is not exclusively Islamic. In general, those in the Middle East have problems which we can't solve.
We have no business being there. Our involvement makes things worse.
Our participation is like adding gasoline (money and military might) to a fire (their religious incitement to violence). The leaders profit financially from our involvement. They also profit politically from violence.

Unfortunately, our political and bureaucratic leaders also profit from violence in the Middle East, politically and financially, with recycled petrodollars coming home to roost.

Re: Islam, it flowered for 1,000 years, then declined beginning in 1600s, when Islam's science came to a halt, and Europe's rapidly advanced.

They still preach single-minded ignorant focus on ways of the past, and allow any mullah to claim the voice of Allah for his own political purposes. Again, the mullah can "prophet" from violence, to coin a phrase. Gathering followers by creating a threat is the oldest political trick in the book.

This would be bad enough, and cause languishing in third-world status for decades or centuries.

Unfortunately, the US rewards criticism

Until the US administration and Congress stop rewarding those who criticize and threaten the US, attacks on our homeland will continue.

The US administration and Congress are acting contrary to the interests of the people, and should be removed.

Were the US to cease funding Israel, Saudi Arabia, Egypt and others who are belligerents or terrorist supporters, attacks on the US would soon end.

Question:"President Bush didn't really do anything until his approval rating in California had fallen to 26 percent. Isn't that true?"

Gray Davis:"He appointed Brownell and Pat Wood. They helped save our behinds. He may have taken a while to do it, and i think the world of President Clinton but the Clinton administration didn't give us any help. They were just trying to get us to raise rates 300-400 percent and I wasn't going to do that"
