If she doesn't learn... One day she's going to be buying a teaset from some dear old lady on Ebay, and the sweet old lady will email her to hope she enjoys it. Your friend will then email back to tell old dear GFY, and old dear will collapse with a heart attack. Her avaricious heirs will then sue your friend for damages, the case will eventually fail but your friend will be ruined by the legal bills. So if you don't warn your friend, she'll be branded a murderer and enrich some greedy lawyers. At best she may close a round robin to her friends who are new to email... the damages might be mitigated...
