Andreas: you didn't concentrate on frequency, you looked primarily at Model ratings.

Which is how AMD is selling its processors.

It is quite clear that they can't scale as good as Northwood's clock- speed since the model/frequency ratio is getting larger with every new speed grade.

So we agree. If AMD wants to keep its quantispeed formula constant, they'll have to come up with some serious improvements. That was exactly what I concluded.

My guess is that AMD will rework their model rating formula when Hammer is released.

The numbers clearly show that unless AMD increases IPC with Tbred, the quantispeed formula will need to be reworked before Hammer is released.
