Another input from this mornings news.

11:06 ET NEW YORK (CBS.MW) - Technology stocks were higher in morning trade Monday, led by semiconductor issues that were propelled by a bullish sector report by CIBC.

In chips, CIBC analysts indicated that with a key measure of demand due out on Tuesday, investors should look closely at the sector. "We recommend investors accumulate shares across our universe ahead of the February bookings and book-to-bill data to be released after the close on 3/19 and expected favorable guidance on April earnings calls," they wrote in a
note to clients.

Among their picks: Applied Materials (AMAT) , KLA-Tencor (KLAC) and Teradyne (TER) . Shares were up $1.83 or 3.6 percent to $52.55, up $2.02 or 3 percent to $67.51, up $1.69 or 4.6 percent to $38.69, respectively.
