could only take a guess given how the market is reacting to said rumors. Since QLGC is down only 3%, while BRCD is down close to 10%, Id say your assumption are correct, or at least the price action in these stocks supports your views.

All in all, its a negative for the industry as a whole as major players such as CSCO start moving into a space which was dominated by a few relatively small companies. Even if the CSCO rumor isnt true, its only a matter of time before the big boys start moving to this 'high growth' space. Whats next?? JNPR offering a competing product for EMLX??

Expensive, id say so. But, I never short a stock on valuation alone. Storage has been perceived as one of the stronger sectors in tech for the past few years, and lack of competition and strong pricing has allowed to these stocks to maintain their margins and competitive edge. How much longer do you think this will last? How much longer before storage goes the way of computers, nothing but a simple commodity? These people dont make a product with ever expanding margins and no competition. On the contrary, they're getting to a point in the cycle where pricing and competition will play a major roll. Just stick around and watch ;)
