I'm glad it's you saying that about NEM. Even though the calls I am holding run to 2004, I really am not comfortable with that decaying time premium, but the only other way I could get the leverage would be to use an awful lot of margin.

The conventional wisdom is that people who buy options, like those who buy futures or dabble in foreign currency, always end up losing money. My own experience, in both puts and calls, is that LEAPS make it possible to make money on market fluctuations and that one thing no market has ever done over a two-year period is to stay flat.

Well, now it's too late to do any trading today, which is probably just as well.
