One of my worries as a long time Palm user with a fair amount of Palm software is that there is a new Palm OS (5) coming and I've lost track of where it's at. Palm 4 likely to be obsolete PDQ...

From what I've seen, Palm OS 5.0 (due out in beta by May) will be designed to run the new ARM based PDA platform Palm is bringing out in the Fall, and will not run on existing MOT-Dragonball CPU PALM PDA's, which will continue on Palm OS v4.x. To allow the new ARM CPU devices to run the existing large base of Palm OS software, they'll probably have to include some kind of emulator in OS 5.0, but that's just my guess. I can't see them bringing out a new high end hardware/software platform that orphans the existing software base.
