Hi Ron,

Re: By the way I am impressed of your awareness of what is going on in the Sudan

Thanks, I do try harder than most Americans to keep up on what is happening in the world. Thoughtful readers here will find there is much merit to a subscription to the Economist, or to regularly checking in on BBC World News
news.bbc.co.uk
in order to avoid the dimming down of the dreadful American infotainment driven media.

BTW, I agree with you wholeheartedly about the lack of tolerance in the fundamentalist Islamic belief structure. It's unbelievably unenlightened and ridiculously out of step with the modern world. Just like fundamentalist Christianity.

Salaams, Ray

I don't understand why the Crusades have any relevance to anything that's happening today. The Crusades were 1000 years ago.

A meteor struck earth 10 million years ago, and that's why alligators are shoes, and we're not.

The ice ages came 100 thousand years ago, and froze a lot of people asses off, and so they all moved to Florida.

Who cares at this point?

I believe that at some point in time, past history loses almost all relevence to current problems.

It has to, or we are all doomed to fighting the same battles forever. My time frame is about 100 years, since after 100 years or so, everyone that was there, (wherever and whatever the issue is) is no longer alive.
