What, us city slickers get no say in how the country is run?

That map you referred to shows Bush "won" a much larger geographic area than Gore. But rocks don't vote.

Alaska is much larger than California and has 3 electoral votes. California, with most of its population along the coast, has 54- -18 times as many.

The point is that the map doesn't really mean anything in terms of the election outcome.
