Do you know who these people are? Is it mainly retirees, wealthy investors, insurance companies or what? Is there a breakdown anywhere?

I would guess that in the main the govt is going to be taking money from the young US people to pay back the older US people that hold the bonds.

When the older people die, and their money (and bonds) get distributed to the ovt and the younger people, will that solve the debt problem? Why don't they just call it quits <g>?

Can we find out how much is owed to foreign investors and how much foreigners owe US investors?

And if the consumer debt is 30T versus 6T govt debt, then is it really the govt that owes all this money or not?
