An example of demographics in history "In the 4th century(BC),it will be recalled ,Syria and Palestine changed hands several times. After Alexanders death Loemedon held the area until 320,when Ptolemy Soter annexed it.In 315 Antigonus recaptured it.Since Palestine was crucial territory in his conflict with Ptolemy he now almost certainly followed his normal practice of establishing Greek and Macedonian settlers there"
