Down to it I would never accept to wear a sign, and if I have to go to a place where a 'kipa' is compulsory, I would not go, even if invited by the cutiest lady on earth, (cemetary included).
All this because in my own personal civilization, we do not accept such things. Every time I hear people around me Eilat Is, Israelis youth, soldiers or not, saying anything that may be even slightly pejorative against the Arab People, (or the Incas) I give them the works.
Pressure like some people here try to apply to leveraging their upinion, usually a pre judged one and most usually anti Jews/ISrael. But no one has to know why you do it. Fine. SO, we have some fun.
But from here to try to put some value in bad jokes about marking people, is somewhat sick unless you have really nothing else to contribute that could have value in your eyes. And because some people here put over our eyes three times the Saudi text on Purim blood, the Sauds recieved no reprimand from your posts but a joke, so I say you are not shocked, how come, but fine.
Now, I not try to pretend that I, or anyone around me in Israel ignores that the Israeli soldiers did misbehave with the Arab local populations. It did happen, there is no excuse for. Petty stealing, or more important, even rapes, ladies not allowed to get to hospitals. But most people around me were not raised this way and do not accept this. And we know that at the end our opinion will prevail. And the Israelis have changed lately. They have no confidence in their neighbours. It could be that something has broken, I do not know yet,too hard to tell.
Besides that, you also know that Arafat need at least five deaths a day in order to stay a CNNBBC subject( the genocide gambit). He gets around one hundred and forty newborns per day. Not that the number matters to me more than what Clinton did in his Oval room batroom with whoever he wanted in the world. Now, to make it perfectly clear, at the age of twelve, it was already laid deep in my fibers that if I am one day involved in a war with Egypt and as a Doctor (which I a, not, nor warrior) and hypotetically recieved two wounded persons at the same time, Egyptian and Israel soldiers, the equation of which one is to be served first depends on and only on the gravity/emergency of their status. That was in a normal school with very average teachers and kids, and that how they talked, debated and commonly agreed. And if everybody in Israel is not educated around the same way, I'll try to catch some lost time, believe me.
Now, concerning us here WAR SI, a place to get more knowledge from a complex unfolding situation. But not if our judgment is impaired or diminished by our ethnic origin, local football club or whatever. I do not accept this for myself, as in my own civilization, such an attitude should reveal signs or brain damage having occured.

Finally, as you all probably know, here on SI, but certainely not in Israel and many places. Israel has won the 67 war, had confirmation in 73, but does not want or often can't admit it. And now we are witnessing the endgame, so the stakes go higher. (Clausewitz, Kissinger and all). But not that high, and anyway, they are fighting for peanuts, and the chiefs know it very well in their own civilization, excuse me, I meant their profession. |
