Ha???: [snip] "No such mystery surrounds Compaq's stockholder vote Wednesday in Houston. The deal is expected to be overwhelmingly approved there, largely because of the premium HP is paying for Compaq shares."

The biggest surprise in this whole fiasco could very well be the vote of CPQ shareholders tomorrow. All those institutional and fund holders voting AGAINST the merger on their HWP cards? Most (all?) also hold shares of CPQ. If they vote AGAINST on the HWP forms, I hardly think they will vote FOR on the CPQ ones.

Then there are the votes of all us fleas...

Cap'n....now it is the opposite...CPQ UP, HWPork DOWN !!!!!!

Looks the the word on the street is that the deal is done and so is HWP !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

jajajajajajajaja

Jimbo.

PS: I think all-in-all it's the best of a bad situation....should lead to higher shareholder value over time, IMO.....
