Solectron could be a sleeping beauty. It still has the cash so debt net of cash gives it a good balance sheet. It is one of two primary suppliers of Cisco with the capacity to take growth their- a 11% customer versus JBL >20%. I think the problem is telecom. JBL just reported that telecom remains weak and is expected to be down for JBL as percent of mix in the following 2 quarters. SLR is also heavy in telecom with NT has its biggest customers. So I think the NT info is putting a damper on SLR. Same for SANM which does a lot of business with NT also as well as other telcom. With telecom remaining so weak for so long, EMS companies with 40-60% telecom can't seem to get out of the mud.(or is it tar). Question is why is FLEX so weak when it only does 18% telecom. At least Networking is coming back according to JBL which means CSCO. SLR's call on Thursday will be key and I hope they can say come good things on the next 2 Quarters and 2003. Their cash management/balance sheet work will also be important IMO.
