Are you for or against legalized abortion? -Against. but I want it to be legal for rape, incest and serious danger to the mother's health. What are your views on gun control? - I would be happier if the control of guns effected the criminal community. Is your impression of the NRA generally good or generally bad? - Good and bad...as in most lobby groups, some of the spokespeople are way over the line in their thinking. Is your impression of the ACLU generally good or generally bad? - Generally bad. They never seem to fight for the civil liberties of the right organizations. Do you favor condom distribution in schools? - Absolutely no. That's what drug stores are for. Do you think public school teachers are qualified to teach grammar school children about sex? - No, reading, writing and math should be their focus. Do you think doctors are overpaid? - Some over some under paid. Do businesses create oppression? - Perhaps to some of their workers. What are your views on global warming? - This is New England. It's never warm here. Do you support Kyoto? - No Is being gay nature or nurture? - In some instances, nature and in others nurture... Most are both. How do you feel about gay marriage? - No Should the welfare budget be cut? - Yes. Should the military budget be cut? - No, but a careful eye on excess spending is a must for all budgets. How do you feel about missile defense? -I agree... underscoring the word, defense. Should the budgets of the NEA, public radio and public television be cut? - Not if they stick to quality public programming and stop promoting controversial issues. Should the AIDS research budget be increased? - No, unless we have the funds to increase all other health research budgets. Are standardized tests racist? - No, but some show cultural bias and should be revised. Is there such a thing as reverse racial discrimination? - Yes, but let's not abandon all of our years of work in any kind of discrimination. Are perjury and obstruction of justice by a president impeachable offenses? - Yes. Should the word "God" be taken off our money and out of patriotic songs? - No, it says, "In God we trust."...not "In God we believe". Leave things as they are. Marie
