Here in Europe we all use one system, GSM. It is a superior system to the one Sprint uses, CDMA because it selects a usable channel, whereas CDMA just splashes all over the spectrum. There are of course poor providers here, i.e. Sunrise, but there are always at least two good ones in every country. They all use the same system which gurantees service all over the continent but roaming charges will kill you because every country, no matter how small and unimportant (Switzerland for example) has their own billing and no one has yet started a Europe-wide plan.

<My problems have been more with the long distance and with customer service-->

Yea, you can't use sprint if you call Europe a lot for sure... I found that out. I usually do that from home, so Sprint for wireless has been great for me, I only call numbers in my autodialer.
