may I remind you about intel's history with benchmarks, think back to the time before athlon.... Since you are so inclined on learning from history :-)) I would assume you would not trust any benchmark that shows intel's advantage <gggggg>
Remember that you can not have it both ways......

Tench, Re: "when the jump from Winstone 97 to 98 was made, Intel processors benefitted more from the transition than AMD. Of course, to the AMDroids at the time, this was proof beyond a reasonable doubt that Intel was manipulating the benchmarks. Watch those accusations return as Intel continues to extend its lead in the 2002 benchmarks. Classic case of history repeating itself."

I'm sure you're right.

Take a look at AMD's overall performance measurement, and then subtract Winstone 2001, the only benchmark where AMD can claim a 24% performance gain (and a benchmark that will soon be obsoleted by Winstone 2002).

For that matter, also remove the "patch" that Dan3 says may "harm" system stability, and you'll see the Athlon XP 2100+ all of a sudden look like a 2100-.

If I remember correctly, you were the one here that questioned AMD's model numbering scheme from the beginning, were you not? I wonder for how long QuantiSpeed will still be valid, with results dwindling as fast as these....
