Bill's list is the one certified by the VFW wing of the Republican Party. Interesting. I didn't know there was such a thing. Litmus tests often leave me a bit amused, since I never seem to "pass" any of them. The left won't have me because, among other things, I support free trade, I think multinational investment is a good thing for the third world, I agree with the imposition of economic criteria as a quid pro quo for WB/IMF support of developing countries. I am concerned about the environment, and I would classify myself as an environmentalist, but I think the environmental movement has been taken over by a bunch of superstitious gelatin-brained mantra-reciting neo-Luddites without the slightest awareness of or concern for the science involved and the complex tradeoffs implicit in these issues. I could go on, but you get the point. The conservatives, of course, don't want me either, for reasons we all know well. None of this displeases me at all, as I've no desire whatsoever to belong to either group.
