Ron,

Reading about Norman Podhoretz gave me the willies. I subscribed to Commentary in 1966 to try to sort out what the sophists and apologists of the fascist element of American culture were creating as cogent and convincing comments on the corrupt conflagration in Ky's country, i.e. Viet Nam du Sud.

He was just as obscurantist, mendacious and duplicitous then as he is now.

Now this fellow Lew Rockwell is new to me, but I've been ROTFLing over this jewel:

On the other hand, there would be no one to enforce sanctions against Iraq, pay the troops in Saudi Arabia, or fund the settlements on the Gaza Strip, so the terrorists would lose their rationale for suicide bombings and the like. They might just choose to go home to their wives and kids."

Crimminy, sign me up! This guy understands exactly what the game is all about. Hehe.

Andrew Sullivan, OTOH, looks every bit the modern equivalent of that famous fag of a forgotten era, that infamous cross-dresser J. Edgar Hoover. The man the nation loved to fear. [[And for good reason. He was totally without a moral compass or a clue about how to adapt Bill Blass to his needs.]]
