Not exactly slam-bang, but built up over a few hours in the morning. I have a blood pressure machine at home and that's what caused me to call the doc. He had 911 called for an ambulance. First sign of high blood pressure for me is really bad headache building rapidly. I learned the signs when I let one go one time and woke up in the morning with blood pouring out of my nose. Ice and lots of pressure for about 45 minutes finally stopped it. Went to an emergency room once with the same thing. $1000+ let me know I could do a lot about it myself. No insurance tends to make one a little frugal with $$$. <g> Chas
