What are you defining as "the long term", NV?

Don't really know yet. I should say that prior to tonight I was negative. Now, I am re-evaluating. Too many indexes are hitting highs and the biggest stocks by market cap (DOW) are at levels we saw in early 2000. Value indices are hitting records. My reason for re-thinking is that there may have been wealth creation going on..and not only the "negative wealth effect" term that got so commonly used the last 2 years.
OK..I have no clear opinion on the longer term anymore.<g>

btw--If in fact GE buys CIT, that would be a good sign for a pick up in M and A. That is what is really lacking in the markets right now.
