You're out of line. Bill and Karen have already settled this. Leave well enough alone.

We're sorry we ever tolerated you.

Now, now. It was just a little dust-up. No biggie.

"...petty push-button categorisations?

Lest we categorize we have no basis for comparing opinions on which to debate. Usually it must be pushed to the degree where one is left with a forced choice otherwise we'd all find our selves happily perched on fences. The forced choices usually do not accommodated resolution and there is a left vs right. For example:

Abortion: Pro-abort (leftist) is almost always against the death penalty as a capital punishment. So the Pro-life criticise them for wanting to kill innocent babies while pampering heinous criminals. Pro-life (rw)is often for the death penalty. So, the Pro-abort criticise them for their pro-death position on criminals.

Here are a couple of "vs" that I see worthy of a forced choice debate.

Do you see compromises in the justice system ok in order to keep the economy strong or to promote a particular issue (abortion, gay rights, etc.)

Are you willing to keep SUVs on the road knowing that there is a direct correlation with escalating military conflict?

Not a litmus test, so feel free to add to the list of "vs"
