Moors & Cabot Initiates Coverage of Juniper Networks With an Intermediate-Term Hold and a Long-Term Market Perform

SAN FRANCISCO, March 20 /PRNewswire/ --

-- We estimate that Over 80% of Juniper's (Nasdaq: JNPR - news) revenue is
derived from sales of its core router products. The core router market
for data over IP is currently saturated, but forecasted to grow in
2004.
-- Juniper recently introduced its wireless product, the J20 GGSN mobile
Internet router that will be marketed exclusively through its joint
venture with Ericsson.
-- Juniper is currently undergoing a transition in which it hopes to
incorporate growth associated with the edge router, cable, and wireless
markets into its model. This transition is exemplified by the
Company's purchase of Pacific Broadband Communications in its effort to
target the cable market and its joint venture with Ericsson in which it
is marketing its new J20 wireless platform router.
-- We have not yet seen significant contribution to revenue associated
with Juniper's transition strategy.
-- We are initiating coverage of Juniper Networks with an
intermediate-term Hold rating and a long-term Market Perform rating.
We will review our ratings when we see evidence of further traction
with the Company's new wireless product and progress in its cable
business.
