Good point. Before too long someone will ask for prorated (higher) amounts for individuals from groups that have lower life expectancies!

What happens to social secutity is a question of demographics. It will take a dramatic and unforseen change in them to save social security. There was never any intent to have a fund for future payouts when the system was designed. It was a much debated issue and some wanted to set it up like a life insurance policy with accuarial calculations and an invested fund. This didn't suit the libs as they wanted to spend the money. Since they effectively controlled the government over the last 50 years - spend the money they did.

Whites live on average several years longer than blacks, so get more out than the blacks do by several
thousands of dollars per person.

Not to make this racist but blacks earn less in their lifetime, according to numerous studies, than whites so they would receive less anyway? The solution, of course, is to do away with SS and allow individuals to invest in America through mutual funds, bonds, and the stock market. The stock market knows no race. The individual owns the account, as you know, and can pass it along to their heirs, perpetuating the economy and raising all boats and reducing future poverty. As a long time self-employed individual the return from my private investments far outweigh the return I receive from SS. I know many receiving grants,( disabled-widows,etc.) have never contributed to the fund but receive some subsistence. These distributions should come out of the general fund, or some other fund set up for that purpose. Since the SS fund will no longer be available to the politicians to build bridges, roads and libraries and other porkies maybe they can use this fund instead. Since it will be smaller than SS they( the pols) will not have as much to steal. See Robert (I never saw a piece of land that could not be paved) Byrd.
