More than $3 million worth. Source? Or do you only see what you want to see, Bill? I wonder how effective the threat of life imprisonment with no parole would be. Ineffective? The stats don't indicate that. I think the threat of torture, perhaps with fire, knives, acids, electricity and breaking of bones, would be most effective of all, but Americans don't condone such "efficiencies." If you saw the stats comparing murders in dp states and periods with those in non-dp states and times, and the national stats, you would be hard pressed to find the least circumstantial evidence for your claim. There isn't any, I'll wager.
