It is the cutting of marginal tax rates, as well as the freeing up of capital from public sector thieves, by which the economic success of administrations is judged. The Reagan success was so powerful and long-term that even Clinton was able to maintain (through constant lying, of course) that it was all his doing...

we consistently rack up more debt and less economic development under Republicans

However, We get a lot more excuses and whining. Maybe that's worth something on the world market.
