As we all know by now, the inflation thing is all rigged: component factors considered in calculating the inflation index are such that they are practically constant regardless of whatever the inflation should be.

I would not use the word rigged but i would say creative and not realistic.

When anything contracts it has the potential of renewed growth. By avoiding contraction as is clearly seen in Japans housing the price remains high but the actual value is low.
By not allowing total natural contraction Japan wages were almost forced to continue to remain at non competitive world market rates.

My gut level feeling is when you are so creative as we have been that the honesty level gets so mucked up that the accident prone level starts to reach an apex point. You can't have increased growth without new tech you can't have tech that is based on too much fabrication on paper of facts an instant gratification syndrome. True tech is beneficial and cost saving. It is the creative paper transactions that to me have a very high possibility of mucking the whole thing up.
