Mankind's religion wants to raise Holy Hell and rip out the Divine Script, tear down the curtain, knock out the lights, blow up the stage, chase the audience away and enslave the actors and the support staff in the dark dungeons were these insane spirits gather, celebrate and glorify terror, madness and destruction. The problem with reading Ingersoll is that Solon never says "and then what?". Ingersoll wants a secular Godless religion with someone like Marx at the head. On the other hand Emile want a tightly controlled group of repressed prelates running the shop. Both groups are identical in the dogmatic follow the instruction manual keep the blinkers on mentality.
