Wed Mar 20,12:41 PM ET

RESTON, Va. (Reuters) - No. 5 wireless firm Nextel Communications Inc. said on Wednesday it would provide AOL Time Warner's Internet services to its wireless subscribers. The media behemoth, in turn, plans to promote the wireless firm's products and services across its properties.

In the marketing deal, Nextel's 7.2 million subscribers would have access to America Online's e-mail, instant messaging (news - web sites) and other services through their wireless phones.

AOL Time Warner, for its part, would promote Nextel on its array of television networks, magazines and its AOL Internet service.

Financial terms nor the length of the deal were not disclosed.

America Online services are also available on the Sprint PCS , Deutsche Telekom's VoiceStream and AT&T Wireless networks.
