It varies. In some high-profile cases, almost immediately - it might effectively be viewed as continuation of the original appeals. (e.g., the Guildford or Woolwich bombers). But those cases took ~20 years to overturn, through various Inquiries.

In some individual cases, although they've pushed for investgation attention has only really been recent - I presume (I'm no specialist) that there are plenty of cases still awaiting such focus... Especially iniquitous are some cases where the individual has always protested innocence (and the evidence now looks poor): but because they won't admit guilt, even to bargain, they're not eligible for any parole...
