Impression of pristine areas remaining probably depends on your location in U.S.
We can still hear crickets at night during warm months; however, the forests are quickly disappearing in this part of the east coast of U.S. New highways, housing developments & shopping malls are spreading like wildfire.

We might need the oil but what happens when the supplies are depleted?....and why should we be held hostage by foreign suppliers when there could be alternative sources of energy??

************************************************************************************************************************************There are lots of pristine areas. Importantly, 1) we need the oil; and 2) drilling for oil
doesn't cause the damage and disruption that ecoterrorists allege.
