There was one good ol' boy on the jury who wanted to convict the kid on the basis that he wouldn't have been out at that hour if he weren't up to no good. I remember arguing with him that in some cultures south of the border they customarily eat dinner late at night and it was not unreasonable for him to be out and about then. He wouldn't hear of it. Sigh.
Idiocy is often incurable.

Gee, I thought jurors were supposed to go by the EVIDENCE. Duh. How stupid of me.
