If your 1830 COMPX line is based on the March 4th opening pop, note that the NDX has just broken through it's equivalent line (1465 I make it) with only about 10 minutes of minor fussing about. E.g. CSCO/INTC/MSFT/SUNW all down about 4%, MERQ/SEBL/BRCM getting whacked, etc. (OTOH, NTAP/JNPR/BRCD are up).

NDX's 1.4 Beta is leading the COMPX lower ?

How then would you distinguish between a light volume consolidation and complacency?

Today's sell off doesn't look complacent to me. Looks like a number of stocks got dumped.
