Check back in about 6 months. I think Dell has a LOT to worry about. I'm just noodlin here but it may be that Dell is making the same mistake that DEC made but in reverse. DEC shunned PC and went out of business. It may be that the future will be the integration of the PC's with the midrange servers, and thus far Dell has shown a certain lack of expertise above the desktop.

This is great news for Dell - one less competitor and confusion among customers of HP and Compaq, which drives many of them to Dell.

Dell, a few years ago, stated that one competitor would "bow" out. This merger indicates a "Strong Buy" signal for Dell.
